Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody is the retired Auror who was supposed to teach Defense Against the Dark Arts at Hogwarts in Harry Potter's 4th year. He had a reputation for paranoia before spending the better part of a year locked up by the Death Eater who was impersonating him. Moody is a member of the Order of the Phoenix.

This version of Moody will rarely be anything approaching 'compliant' with the Deathly Hallows 'canon.''Nuff said.

Moody is involved with Penelope Clearwater ([info]pennyclear). She is his lover or wife, depending on the 'verse. In several 'verses they have a young daughter, Emily.

He has a number of very strange friends whom he's known forever and a day, including the 9th Doctor ([info]doctorwho9), Galen ([info]starlight_mage), Jack Bristow ([info]spydad), Roger Smith ([info]rogersmith_bigo) and an as-yet-unidentified old!Obi-Wan Kenobi. He is also very fond of Penny's two 'brothers', Draco Malfoy ([info]argentumlingua and Blaise Zabini [info]badlieutenant).
